WIWT: My Christmas Outfit!

December 26, 2011

(click for larger)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had way too much food! We also had a turducken for the first time, and I’ll make a separate post for all the food! I didn’t get the chance to decorate the house as much as I wanted :( , but hopefully next year I’ll have more time to make the house a Christmas wonderland. I did accomplish two small Christmas goals though: bake cookies using the cookie press, and crochet my own stocking (I’ll put a photo of that in my Christmas tree post).

Here’s a quick snap of my outfit! Dress by I’m Your Present, Necklace by Onch Movement, Cardigan from Target, teddy bear slippers from Hong Kong, giant ribbon bow in hair from Target! I wore my slippers all day. It was pretty awesome. Here’s a close up of the necklace. It’s super soft! You can just pet them all day.

All Aboard!

October 30, 2011

Tiffany and Daniel invited us to party that they and their friends were throwing on the S. S. Jeremiah O’Brien on Saturday night. We got there REALLY late, because Hairy had to work at the gallery, and Manda and I still had to put together some kind of costume to wear, sewing on buttons and cutting out collars at the last minute. Everything turned out fine, and we had so much fun trying to take a million pictures during the last hour of the party! Costumes: success! Except, for some reason, my nylons were REALLY SHINY.

Here are my fav photos:

Tiff made her own mermaid costume! I’m sad Hairy didn’t get the bottom of her costume with the mermaid tail!

That’s us trying to mimic some mannequins at F21 we saw earlier that day!

Outfits: (we tried to buy pieces that would be usable even after Halloween)
$5 sailor hats from some shop online that we sewed golden bows and buttons to.
Dresses: H&M, and we added gold buttons from JoAnn Fabrics
Coats: Converse All Star from Target
Collars: pieces of fabric cut out about 5 minutes before we left the house

Here’s a video of us exploring the ship!

And I’ll put the rest of the photos behind a cut!

WIWT: First Date Dress

October 5, 2011

My aunt was in town for a few weeks, and we all went to eat fancy foods at Gary Danko.

I wanted to get a few quick outfit snaps, but I also didn’t want us to run too late, since we were also going to visit Chrissa at her launch party/press conference for her new gig as a VJ for MNET. We were only able to say hi super quick before heading off to dinner, but it was at least nice to say hi to her and Tess and Amy for 2 minutes!

Chrissa was too busy being an event hostess to be in this photo :P .

The dress I’m wearing is part of Elsie’s collection for Red Velvet. She asked Twitter to help her name the dress, and she went with my suggestion: The First Date!! Then I felt like an idiot, because she had already named another dress in the collection the Library Date dress, but she said, “It’s ok. I really like dates!” She’s the cutest.

The tights are from Celeste Stein. The variety of prints for tights is amazing!! But I think the fit of the tights is a little less amazing….. they get super saggy and loose super quickly. Necklace: Cicely Margo. Bunny purse: Rakuten.

WIWT: The Cake Hat

August 30, 2011

On Saturday, we met up with Mars, Josh, Tiffany, and Daniel, and had brunch at The Elite Cafe. You gotta love a place where mini donut holes are on the starter menu!

Then we all made our way over to Japan Town to check out the J-Pop Summit. Miss Alphabet and Locketship had booths right next to each other, which made for convenient shopping and hang outs! Check out Zambi’s blog entry for better details about the booths!! I didn’t take any photos! I wish I had a photo of me and Amy and her friend Josh, since he was wearing gigantic platform boots which made him 7 feet tall and made us feel teeny tiny!

Anyway, today I wore my purchases from that day: a cakey hat by Locketship and a cute top from Miss Alphabet! Too bad you can’t tell from the photos really that the cake plate is sparkly, and so is the lavender fabric on the shirt!

Last night while watching Bachelor Pad, I painted my nails! Because I got obsessed, I totally ordered this OPI UK exclusive color I Pink I Love You from some UK website, and the package ended up shipping from Belgium. Fancy! (A polish with the same name was released here in the U.S., but it’s a pale baby pink.)

Then I decided to pile a bunch more crap into my hair.

This hat/headband is the most amazing accessory ever. Only downside: it’s mounted on a child’s head band, and I have the biggest head on the planet. I can wear the headband for maybe 2 hours and then it’s brain explosion time!!! Oh well! WORTH IT.

Peter Pan

August 25, 2011

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you might be familiar with my love for peter pan collars on dresses and shirts.

One of my bday presents from Hairy was this detachable peter pan collar by bepixielated on Etsy. Check out her cute shop!
