Shoe Therapy

February 21, 2012

So for the past few days, I have been battling a cold! This is a bummer because not only do I feel like crap, but I am also really unproductive, which makes me feel crappier!!

It started off with a sore throat, which I got rid of in about 24 hours. Then I had one healthy-ish day, and then all heck broke loose and now I have the cough from Hades, the one kind of cough I always dread, this kind of cough I get where coughs are triggered by a sensation at the back of my throat kind of like a coarse hair poking me, or like, the rough side of the Velcro, or a pin prick. If it’s persistent, I get caught in a very embarrassing cycle of coughing, choking, gagging, heaving, crying, and snotting. Needless to say, I have not been leaving the house, except, tonight, I had to go out and buy cough meds, since my all day course of hot water, lemon, apple cider vinegar, honey, and cayenne pepper, weren’t really helping, even though I’ve gone pee like a million times.

Anyway, I know you are like, “Just go to the doctor!” Well, the last time I went to the doctor, he told me that the hairy sensation was the little hairs on the back of my throat growing back from being coughed away. It sounded like a big bunch of hooey to me, and he sent me home with codeine cough syrup that didn’t do anything at all. So that’s why I gave the hot water, lemon, etc stuff a try today. Usually, over the counter stuff doesn’t do anything for me either, at least as far as getting some sleep.

I’ve also resorted to window-shipping therapy, and maybe some actual purchases : /. Let’s look at some fun shoes!

The first three pair are from ModCloth and the rest are from YesStyle.

Thrill the World! Eaten by Zombies!

October 26, 2009

On Saturday, Hairy and I went to Palo Alto to support my BFF Manda as she led the dance in Palo Alto for Thrill the World.

Hairy and I refuse to dance (I need to be inebriated to even jump up and down to Cyndi Lauper), so I tried to take video, but then my arms got tired!! Hahaha.

That dude with the ponytail and track pants is going to be Manda’s new husband, so, Dude with Ponytail and Track Pants, if you ever read this, please contact me and I will connect you to your wife. You have the sweet dance moves that all the ladies desire.

October 16, 2009

So we will be in Houston for the weekend for Margaret’s wedding. I am packing my curly Shirley Temple wig! Today I went shopping with Manda AAAALL over the planet looking for red shoes to go with my red bridesmaid dress. It was not easy, let me tell you. I either felt like a tacky cougar or a businesswoman….nothing wedding-appropriate AND RED.

My mom berated me and told me that if I hadn’t waited these few months to shop, that it wouldn’t be the winter season, and that there would have been more red shoes a few months ago. AH! Whatevs!! What do I know from fashion seasons?!?! I kinda hate that there are colors that are supposed to go with seasons. I dislike fall colors especially!

I managed to wrangle a pair of super pointy, Marc Jacobs, strap heeled shoes in a kinda shiny patent at Nordstrom Rack. Trust me, everything looked terrible, and this was the least of all the evils. It’s not my wedding and I don’t have to look awesome, nor will people care much, but I admit, I feel a bit defensive because I’ll be the weird girl with the full sleeve, and I don’t want to look like I don’t have the class to clean up nicely!!! Weird, I know!!

Today I drove all the way up to Petaluma to drop the baby doggies off at their new kennel. I hope they have a good time and are not sad!! Then I drove all the way back down to Palo Alto to go shoe shopping. On the drive home, I kept myself awake (only had 4 hrs of sleep last night) by practicing the speech/toast I have to give at the wedding!!

Anyway, sorry for all that text!! I will leave you with a few fun items from the interwebz!! *Click on images to go pages*

I’ve added Coco Perez to my blog reader on Blogger.com (where I host the YuckyStuff site). I am enjoying it! Check out his post on chocolate and fashion!

Hairy showed me this post about Hello Kitty toys with ORGANS!!!!

Lastly, I am into this t-shirt dress from FredFlare.com. Although, I would be inclined to embellish the white-tee part, I think with an applique or some bling or a drawing of a lollipop or something!

Everyone have a great weekend!!! I hope you all get to see Where the Wild Things Are. I am going to wait to come home to see it with my bestie!!!!

Jumping Beans!

October 12, 2009

Soooooooo I guess I am naturally not feeling like blogging as much with all my deadlines coming up! EEEEK I’ll be so proud to have survived October when it’s over!!!

On Friday I flew down to L.A. for the day for a meeting. I don’t want to say much until something ACTUALLY happens, if anything, but let’s just say the meeting went well, and they even provided cupcakes and kitty cat notebooks!!! :)

I also got the most rando little prezzie ever from my manager. Lord knows why he had them in the 1st place! Mexican Jumping Beans!

They started jumping around in their little container inside my purse, and I couldn’t figure out what it was for a little bit!

Since I can’t post any progress pics of what I’ve been working on, we’ll skip to checking out a few cute things today. You can click on the images to go the pages.
